BUSBY, Ollie

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/13/2005 Ollie Busby, age 81, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. She was born in Zeniff, a community that stood near Dry Lake, southwest of Holbrook. The family moved to Woodruff soon after she was born and she lived in Woodruff for most of her early life. Ollie attended schools in Woodruff, Holbrook, and Thatcher and graduated from Central Arizona College. She was a Music Teacher for many years. Over the years she taught hundreds of students to play the piano. Ollie lived in the Florence area for many years before returning to Woodruff in 1978. Ollie is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann (Jerald) Scorse, Peggy Lynn (Byron) Sanders both of Woodruff; sons, Robert Steven (Vanessa) Busby Anchorage, Alaska, Max Kenneth (Lynne) Busby of Mesa, James Arthur "Jim"(Shauna) Busby of Mt. Clement, Utah; brothers, Arthur Gardner of Glendale, Melvin Gardner of Mesa; sisters, Ethel Stevenson of Mesa, Marjorie Lupher of Woodruff; 24 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday May 13 at Owens Mortuary in Holbrook and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at the Woodruff Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in the Woodruff Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
