Harold M. Forsyth was born July 6, 1909 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania where he spent his early life working on the family farm and in a coal mine.
He passed away On October 23, 2002 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 93.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard in the horse cavalry and then in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1963 when he retired with the active rank of Master Sergeant and the reserve rank of 1st Lieutenant. After retiring from the military he lived in Phoenix, AZ, then Ceres, CA and for the last 7 years, in Elk Grove, CA with his daughter.
He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and belonged to Arizona Lodge No. 2 in Phoenix. He also belonged to the Ceres, CA Chapter 296, Order of the Eastern Star and the El Zaribah Shrine Club in Phoenix. He was proud of his Scottish heritage, his service to his country and of his fraternal affiliations.
He is survived by his children, Pamela Lloyd and her husband Robert of Elk Grove, CA and Rebecca Lamb of Phoenix, AZ, 4 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Greenwood Memorial Lawn, 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, Az, November 30, 2002.
