GRIFFIN, Wendell P.


Wendell P. Griffin, 74, of chandler, AZ, passed away peacefully at Chandler Regional Hospital on November 22, 2002, surrounded by his loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith Griffin and Mae Cornman Griffin, a sister, Vivian; brothers, Forrest, Roger, Merrill, Jack and Paul. Mr. Griffin was born on 9-4-28 in Galva, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Norma, and loving sons, Brian and Bruce, Bruce's wife, Annette, loving daughter, Jill Griffin, future son-in-law, John Bloom and grandsons, Brett and Kyle, all of Chandler, and various nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law all of Illinois, Georgia, Rhode Island and Texas. Mr. Griffin proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a 52 year member of the Scottsdale Masonic Lodge, belonged to The Scottish Rite of Masonry and El Zaribah Shrine Temple of Phoenix. There was a memorial gathering to celebrate his life in Chandler, AZ at the family home on Sunday, December 1 between 2:30pm and 5:30pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the Phoenix Humane Society's "No Kill Animal Shelter." Published in the Arizona Republic on 11/24/2002.
