Helen Flores Guerra, 79, of Mesa, passed away November 22, 2002 in Mesa.
Helen was born September 22, 1923 in Vanadium, New Mexico to Epigmenio T. and Susie V. Flores.
She was a very sweet and compassionate person. She loved music, working crossword puzzles and doing cross-stitch embroidery. She was a very hard worker and had a good sense of humor. She grew up in Santa Rita, NM.
She met and married Willie Guerra in Silver City, NM. After living five years in Bayard, NM they moved to Superior, AZ where they resided for forty five years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Guillermo E. "Willie" Guerra who died Nov. 15, 1998; her sisters, Abigail Montes and Sally Flores; brothers David Flores and Edward "Lalo" Flores. Surviving her are her daughters Emily Guerra of Mesilla, NM, and Mary Grace Quintero of Mesa, AZ; son, Willie (Cindy) Guerra, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; sisters, Esther Tafoya of El Paso, TX, and Rebecca (Arthur) Garcia of Bayard, NM; brothers, Arthur (Josie) Flores of Las Cruces, NM, Benjie Flores of Bayard, NM; sister-in-law, Josie Flores of Bayard, NM; grandchildren, David Quintero, Valerie Garza, Eddie Guerra, Ricky Guerra and Albert Guerra; great grandchildren, Cristiana and Diego Garza.
Visitation was held Sunday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. with services at Melcher's Chapel of the Roses, 43 S. Stapley Dr., Mesa. Additional services will be in Las Cruces, NM at Baca's Funeral Chapel on Monday, Nov. 25, with visitation and Rosary. Funeral Mass will be held at San Albino Church in Mesilla on Tuesday. Nov. 26, 2002. Burial will follow at San Albino Cemetery.
