JACOBS, Jerry Dale

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, July 27, 2007 Jerry Dale Jacobs, 57 years old, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Good Sam Hospital in Phoenix, after being hit crossing Cortez Street in Prescott by a drunk driver a few days before. He was a long-time Prescott resident, moving here from Washington state in 1964. Many may have seen him walking around town for many years. My uncle looked like a lucky, lovable troll - he loved the outdoors and the mysteries of life. He was a friend to most people he met, he loved cats and loved to laugh. Jerry had a very thick stubborn streak that made him strong. He handed out hugs that made you think your ribs would break. He was a good listener and gentle adviser if you asked him to be. He worked for many years at Quality Plastics in Prescott and also massage therapy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jacobs Carter and William Frank Jacobs and stepfather, Henry Carter. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Frank Read; a half-brother, Steven; nieces, Tabitha, Melanie, Sabrina and Valerie; nephew, Cameron; and four cousins, Marleen, Renee, Dale and David. No one expects to say goodbye so abruptly. Please don’t drink and drive; the life you take is someone’s family. Memorial for his friends will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Granite Creek Park. Information provided by survivors.
