Memorial services for Michael Paul Shedd, 48, of Safford were conducted Wednesday, April 13 at the Safford LDS Stake Center.
Mike was born April 5, 1957 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the son of Paul and Caroline Shedd. At a young age, Mike and his family moved to Arizona. He attended Safford Schools and graduated in 1975. He attended Mesa Community College and then attended the Phoenix Police Academy.
After working for the Safford Police Department for several years, he went back to college to pursue a career as a Cardiac Perfusionist. He moved to Redding, Calif. where he was Head of Cardiac Perfusion at Redding Medical Center. While in Redding he also started Eagle Air Med Team and founded Northern California Profusion Inc., a medical supply company.
He retired and returned to Safford where he served as under sheriff for a year. He enjoyed his summer home in Pinetop and spent winters at his Safford home. He loved spending time with his family and volunteering at the sheriff's office this past winter. He had many interests including flying, music and most of all his children and grandchildren.
His survivors include his children, Robert Shedd of Gilbert, Tonya (Michael) Saline of Gilbert, Amanda (Danny) McEuen of Pima, Michael Shedd of Thatcher; parents Paul and Caroline Shedd of Safford; brother Dr. Steven (Louise) Shedd of Paradise Valley; grandchildren Riley Shedd, Logan Saline, Haylee Gomez and Braden McEuen; Aunt Sally and (Jim Kirschbaum; cousins Anne, Lynn, Julie and Elizabeth; nephews, Jesse and Zachary Shedd.
