Black's Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Juan J. Naranjo (October 21, 1941 - June 4, 2010) Juan J. Naranjo, 68, of McNary, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at his home. He was born October 21, 1941, in Socorro, NM, the son of Juan M. and Candelaria (Madrid) Naranjo. He was raised in Reserve, NM until age 9, when he came to McNary. He graduated from McNary High School in 1960. He later graduated from Northland Pioneer College in Show Low. He then entered the U.S. Army, serving 4 years stationed in Germany, then returning to McNary. He was married to Irene Fernandez on December 21, 1965. He worked for Southwest Lumber Mill in McNary and McNary General Store for 22 years, and worked for the Whiteriver Supermarket for 5 ½ years. He later worked for the White Mountain Summer Homes Golf Course, retiring due to health reasons. Juan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very hard worker and never knew a stranger. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in McNary. Juan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Irene; children Tim Naranjo, Greta Naranjo, Frank (Maria) Naranjo, J.J. (Bobbie) Naranjo, Felipe Naranjo, Candy (Balo) Perez and Anthony (Amanda) Naranjo; sisters Rosie, Bessie, Vicky and Billie; brothers Mike and Sammy; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, June 6, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in McNary. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 7, at St. Anthony Church, with burial following at McNary Cemetery.
