Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, June 3, 2010 Donna (Clausen) Roberts entered heaven on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 after a brief relapse of cancer invaded her lungs. She was born Feb. 9, 1930 in Madison, Wis., to Clarence and Lillian (Lawrence) Clausen. She had two sisters and two brothers, one of which was her twin. She attended Edgewood High School graduating in 1947. Donna met her soon to be husband, Bob, and they were married on Oct. 8, 1949, at St. Raphael’s Church. In 1951, they began their family having three girls and three boys. In 1972, they were offered a free flight from McCulloch to check out the new community of Lake Havasu City. After many hard, long Wisconsin winters, Bob and Donna decided to make the move with their four youngest children in tow. Upon arrival, they opened The Desert Sport Shop where Donna helped out until she began working at Crazy Horse Campgrounds. She worked at the Nautical Inn Pro Shop and finally ended up at the Pro Shop of the London Bridge Golf Course where she worked for 22 years before her retirement. She was known for always having a smile on her face and knowing everyone who entered by name. In honor of her memory, the golf course flew the flag at half-mast upon hearing of her passing. Upon retirement, Bob and Donna enjoyed traveling extensively, seeing a majority of Europe, the Far East, South America, and New Zealand/Australia. They enjoyed taking their kids with them to enjoy in their excursions. There was never a place that Donna wasn’t willing to enjoy and learn more about. Donna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob, and her children, Karen (Mark) Fresh, of Lake Havasu City, Dan (Kris) Roberts, of Henderson, Nev., Tony Roberts, of Tucson, Jeff (Leslie) Roberts, of Lake Havasu City, and Mary Roberts, of Lake Havasu City. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Trameri and Bill Clausen and grandchildren, Andrew Fresh, Alena Holligan, Audrey Cornejo, Abe Fresh, Abigail Hutchings, Amanda Fresh, Aaron Fresh, Anna Fresh, Alyssa Fresh, Alex Fresh, Angela Fresh, Adam Roberts, Cody Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Anthony Roberts Jr., Bobby Roberts, Mahlia Roberts and Gunner Mitchell. She has 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lillian Clausen; siblings, Alice Clausen and Donald Clausen and daughter, Linda Roberts. “If roses grow in heaven, Lord, pick a bunch for us. Place them in our mother’s arms and tell her they are from us. Tell her that we love and miss her and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.“ Services will be Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Blvd, Lake Havasu City. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. followed by a reception luncheon in the Holy Family Parish Center beginning at 12:15 p.m. All friends and family are invited to come and celebrate Donna’s life.
