Carlos R. Valdivia, 72, died at his home in Eagar, May 31, 2005.
Carlos was born in Flagstaff Sept. 10, 1932. He married his sweetheart, Viola Baca Dec. 23, 1951. Together they had five children. Carlos served in the National Guard. He worked for Chrysler where he retired while living in Delaware. He was a football enthusiast, but he liked all kinds of sports. He was a caring grandfather and any day was his favorite day if he was spending time with his grandchildren.
His survivors include his wife Viola, Eagar, sons Carlos, Jr. (Kimberly) Valdivia, Lake Tahoe, Nev.; Thomas (Tracy) Valdivia, Newark, Del.; daughters Esther Valdivia, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Adelina Maier, Eagar; Theresa Jo Valdivia, St. Johns, sisters Lydia Muñoz, Phoebe Talamentes, Carol Gutierrez, Perla Rodriquez, Blasa Garcia, 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by brothers Mike, Johnny, Arthur and Orlando Valdivia; and sisters Nico Castillo and Eunice Valdivia.
Funeral services were Friday, June 3, 2005 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Springerville.
Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary handled the arrangements.
