MONK, Morene E.

COOLIDGE - A family service for Morene E. Monk will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Valley Memorial Park. Mrs. Monk, 90, of Coolidge died June 23, 2006 at the Beatitudes Campus of Care in Phoenix, where she fought a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She and her husband operated the Sunset Cafe for many years and she later worked at the Coolidge Post Office. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Monday Niters. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed spending their summers in San Diego and the White Mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F., and a son, George "Sonny" Monk. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ©Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc. 2007
