COVERDALE, John W. Jr.

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona May 19, 1977 Services were conducted by Rev. Bert Follmar and American Legion Post No.12 at the Wickenburg Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. May 9 for John W. Coverdale, Jr., who died Thursday May 5 at the age of 57 years. For the past two years he had lived in Wickenburg having retired from 25 years of farming near Waterloo, Iowa. Mr. Coverdale served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years during World War II and spent over 2 years in the South Pacific as Gunner's Mate on a Liberty Ship. Survivors include his wife Bernice, two sons, James of Waterloo, Iowa and John of Mason City, Iowa and four grandchildren. Burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
