BURGESS, John

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 16, 1977 Services were held June 10 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for John Burgess, 76, a Businessman and resident of Wickenburg for 30 years. Born in Van Buren, Arkansas, Burgess came to Wickenburg in 1947 and built the 67 Market and Café. It is one the few Wickenburg businesses owned and operated by the original owner for such a long period of time. He was a Past Master of the Haassayampa Masonic Lodge, A Royal Arch Mason, Yorkrite of Freemasonary member and a member of El Zaribah Temple. He is survived by his wife Aletha, a son, James, three daughters including Cheryl Rumsey of Glendale, and three grandchildren. Past or W.W. Hutchinson officiated at the Masonic services. Burial was at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
