Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 30, 1977 D.P.S. Report Wednesday afternoon June 22nd Patrolman T. Belverud investigated a one vehicle accident in which a passenger, Janet Mendola 23 years of Tucson, Az. was killed when the van her husband was driving overturned near the Santa Maria River Bridge on Hwy, 93 40 miles North of Wickenburg. The driver, Thomas Mendola 30 years also from Tucson, lost control of the North-bound vehicle when a tire began losing tread on a curve. Mrs. Mendola was thrown through the windshield of the vehicle during the roll over. No injuries were suffered by any other occupants including the 3½ month old son of the deceased.
