RASMUSSEN, Andrew Earl (Andy)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, July 30, 2007 Andrew Earl Rasmussen, 85, died on July 27, 2007, at the VA hospital in Prescott. Andy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather and friend. He was an excellent carpenter and an expert craftsman. He was also a World War II hero, serving in the Army’s elite Filthy Thirteen, a part of the 101st Airborne Division Association. Upon retirement he moved to Arizona and quickly became involved in the American Legion. And was Department Commander 1996 – 1997. One of his greatest joys was participating in parades – riding in a 1927 fire truck with his good friend, Al Tiffany. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Louise (White); two sisters, Phyllis Bedet of Cicero., N.Y., and Betty Rehborg of Phoenix; one daughter, Kathy Tabor of Houston, Texas; two sons, James Rasmussen of Milford, N.H., and John Rasmussen of Phoenix; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Green. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in the Chapel in the Veteran’s Hospital in Prescott.
