The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, August 17, 2007 Jack L. Smith, born in Hubbard, Ohio, Sept. 15, 1941, passed in his sleep Aug. 14, 2007. Jack was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 148 of San Manuel, Ariz. He came to Arizona with his family in 1974 and never looked back. Arizona was home from that point on. He worked at the copper mines in San Manuel and then became a maintenance supervisor in Tucson, and Phoenix and Mesa until he retired due to illness. He was a hard-working, dedicated family man, and will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Murphy, their sons, Jim Sheets, Ron Sheets and Richard Smith, all of Arizona; son Tracy Sheets of West Virginia and John Smith – Seese, of Youngstown, Ohio; daughter, Debbie Graves of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Gerald Smith and family of Hubbard, Ohio.
