DEATON, Peggy Lou


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Sunday, February 14, 2010 Peggy Lou Deaton passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 77. She was born on July 13, 1932, in Goldsby, Okla. to Roy and Clara (McGee) Herrin. Peggy and her husband Odes, moved to Lake Havasu City 17 years ago from Burbank, Calif.; where she worked as a telephone operator for Warner Bros. Studios. While at Warner Bros., Peggy had the opportunity to meet many stars and celebrities and collected photos of the many she met. She retired from Warner Bros. after 32 years of service. One of Peggy's greatest pleasures was being a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandchildren. Peggy is survived by her son, Gary Deaton and his wife Jan of Northridge, Calif.; sisters, Kitty Gay Tindle and Pat Ann Causey, both of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Robin, Amy, Chris and Jacob; and her great-grandchildren, Julia, Angela and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Clara; husband, Odes Jay Deaton; and her daughter, Pamela Sue Woods. Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Carol Sheffield will offer words of comfort and inspiration. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy's name can be made to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, P.O.
