ROMERO, Hipolito (Polo) M.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/28/2005 Hipolito (Polo) M. Romero returned home June 23, 2005. He was born Sept. 2, 1932. He was and always will be a Tata to 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren plus one on the way and Tata to everyone who knew him. Polo had a love for life which he expressed through his music and showed this passion with those who he came to know and love. Along with his love for music was his love for the game. Baseball/softball where his true fundamentals in life. Dedication and practice, a recipe for success in which this man accomplished every day. This man was many things, but above all he was our hero. An idol that generation upon generation could look up to and respect. Say hello to Nana for us and keep telling Johnny to keep his elbow up. He is survived by his sister Emma Coronado, sons/daughters: Paul, Sally, Alfred, Sandy, Laura, Peter, Aurelio, Veronica and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Matilde Romero; brothers/sisters Esteban, Frank, Ernesto, Eva and wife Matlide Salcido Romero; also his loving son Johnny Romero June 18, 2005. A visitation was held Sunday, June 26 at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel) in Tucson with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass was held Monday, June 27 at St. Augustine's Cathedral also in Tucson. Arrangements were handled by Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, Inc.
