SIMPSON, Frances


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 07/01/2005 Frances Tomerlin Simpson, 73, of Superior died peacefully June 26, 2005. Frances was born May 14, 1932 in Hayden. She was raised in Globe and graduated from Globe High School in 1950. Frances married John "Rip" Tomerlin in 1952 and they had three children. They were married until Rip's death in 1988. Frances married Dee Simpson at Reynolds Creek Campground in 1990. They enjoyed being camp hosts at the Black River campgrounds in the White Mountains. They also enjoyed outdoor activities and attending their grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Frances also enjoyed traveling to see family and friends. Frances is survived by her husband Dee Simpson; sisters Dorris Newville of Sun Lakes, Edna Mae Hendrickson of Oracle and Lorraine Cline of Tonto Basin; along with daughters Lorri Tomerlin, Sandi Hansen (Ron) and sons, John Tomerlin (Nancy) and Dinky Simpson. She is also survived by grandchildren John Phillip Tomerlin (Tanya), Michael De La Torre (Jennifer), Michelle Rowland, Gena Duarte (Ben), Brandon Tomerlin (Stephanie), Justin Tomerlin, Ron Hansen Jr., Ryan De La Torre, Ryan Hansen, Joshua Tomerlin, Rhiannon Hansen, and Austin Hansen and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at the Superior Junior Senior High School gym located on Mary Drive in Superior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Frances Tomerlin Simpson to the Friends of Superior Public Library, 99 Avenue, Superior, AZ 85273. Arrangements were handled under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
