ROMERO, John S.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/01/2005 John S. Romero died June 18, 2005. He was born Sept. 12, 1960. John lived most of his life in Tucson except for a few years in Show Low. He donated his time as a coach for the Special Olympics. He always found time to give of himself to everyone who needed him. He had such a great love of softball which he passed on to his sons, nephews, his scorekeeper and coordinator niece Liz and others. "Live on Romero Gang." He was preceded in death by his son, John, Jr. I; mother Matilde Romero; granddaughter and father Hipolito "Polo" Romero. He is survived by his wife of 15 years Sonia; children Maribel, Manny, Daniel, Maria, Rey, Leo, and John Jr., II; brothers and sisters, Paul, Sally, Sandy, Laura, Peter, Aurelio, Veronica, Alfred and other family members, godchildren and friends. Visitation was held with a Rosary Friday, June 24 at South Lawn Mortuary with mass Saturday, June 25 at St. Monica Parish. Burial followed at South Lawn Cemetery.
