Frank "Sonny" Horner, 62, of Show Low, made his transition Monday, June 27, 2005.
Formerly of Scottsdale and Las Vegas, Nev., Frank was born in Detroit, Michigan, where he lived until he entered the U.S. Marine Corps at age 17. He excelled in all phases of construction and spent most of his career as a painting and drywall contractor. He was an avid motorcyclist and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. In 2002, after 41 years, he was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Patricia Rice Rapp, whom he married in February, 2003.
Frank was known for his uncanny sense of humor, always telling jokes. He recently celebrated 23 years of sobriety and was very involved helping others recover as well.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Owens Mortuary in Show Low. Memorial donations may be made to White Mountain Hospice Foundation, 1789 W. Commerce, Lakeside, AZ 85929.
