Roberta Jane Gordon passed away Feb. 6, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 90. She was born to Charles and Bessie (McDonald) Herndon on July 28, 1919, in Macomb, Ill.
Roberta married her beloved husband, David B. Gordon, on July 15, 1949, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 23 years ago from Garden Grove, Calif. She worked for the Hartford Insurance Co. in Long Beach, Calif., and was involved with the Insurance Women of Long Beach. Roberta was the past officer of Havasu Gem & Mineral Society, a member of the Santa Ana Gem and Mineral Society, a member of the Compton Hunting and Fishing and a past officer of the Western Welcome Society of Lake Havasu.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, who passed away Feb. 14, 2002; and two sisters, Lillian Janes and Bettie Condon. Roberta leaves behind her son, Gary David Gordon; two daughters, Gladys Ann Moore and Davienne Marie Gordon; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and her dear friend Lucille Hunter.
A celebration of life took place at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Feb. 10, 3 p.m. Rev. Richard Rounds offered words of comfort and inspiration.
