Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, June 7, 2010 Ella Elizabeth C. Paxton, 77, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2010 in the comfort of her friends and the devoted Hospice professionals at the Hospice of Havasu “Polidori House.” Elizabeth was born on Oct. 18, 1932, in Aberdeen, Wash., to Charles and Pearl Carey. She spent several years in California before moving to Lake Havasu City with her husband Charles in the early 1970s. Charles Paxton died Sept. 29, 1982. Elizabeth worked many years in the real estate industry as an agent and office manager. She owned her own consulting business, was a life time member of the Handyman’s Club of America, worked as a sales representative for Value Guide Publications and was a member of the London Bridge Lions Club where she gave of her time to help the less fortunate. With her many years of living in Lake Havasu City, she acquired a vast knowledge of the history of Lake Havasu as it grew from a small town to what it is today. Elizabeth had one son, Victor James House, who predeceased her in 2002, one daughter, Julie Ann Hinton, and three grandchildren. Her remains, per her wishes, have been donated to Science Care of Phoenix. Thoughts, memories and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
