WING, Mons Leon


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/08/2005 (Nov. 11, 1987 ~ July 3, 2005) Mons Leon Wing, 17, died early Sunday morning from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on his way to work at the golf course. He was born in Show Low, the youngest of 10 children, and has lived in Taylor all of his life. He attended Taylor Elementary School and would have been a senior this fall at Snowflake High School. Mons recently received his Eagle Scout Award. He was an avid snowboarder and loved skate boarding. He also loved the outdoors. He was employed as a grounds keeper at the Silver Creek Golf Club. Mons was a great fan of Snowflake High and especially enjoyed supporting the baseball team. He enjoyed working with computers and most anything in technology. Mons was a member of the Priests Quorum of the Taylor 2nd Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mons had a smile that would light up the world and he will be missed by his family and friends. Mons is survived by his parents, Judge Tom and Beverly Wing of Taylor; seven brothers, Clinton (Maggie) Montijo of Pomerene, Jacob Wing of Phoenixville, Pa., Eliot (Tracy) Montijo of Pomerene, Benjamin (Roxann) Wing of Tucson, David (Fatina) Wing in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Jaime Montijo of Tucson, and Thomas Wing of Taylor; two sisters, Julia (Stacy) Sherwood of Tucson and Amanda (Steven) Buccell in the U.S. Navy in San Diego; his grandmother, Louise Larson of Benson; three nephews and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 8 at the Taylor Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a visitation one hour prior at the church and from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake.
