Belita A. Lewis, 61, of Show Low died Friday, July 15 at her residence.
Mrs. Lewis was born Sept. 2, 1943 in Phoenix, the daughter of Elmer and Wanda Faultner Carter. She was raised and attended school in Tucson graduating in 1961. She married Edwin Lewis in may of 1976 in Tucson and lived there for 33 years. She worked in the Human Resources department at the University of Arizona. She came to Show Low in 1993 where she enjoyed fishing and cooking. She was a great mother and a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband Edwin, of the home; daughter Julie Capwell (George) of Tucson; five sons, James Dean (Leona) of Tucson, Wesley Dean of Prim, Nevada, Michael Lewis (Melinda) of Marana, Guy Lewis of Tucson and Brad Lewis of Lakeside; two sisters Sheila of Tucson and Lettia of Tennessee; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Francis Reader.
A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 20 at the First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Bob Midyett officiating and Sharon Midyett providing the music. Burial will follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
