The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/08/2010 Alicia Petersen, 53, died Saturday, June 5, in Gilmer Texas. She was born July 7, 1956, in Ijinaga, Mexico, to Luis and Yolonda Melendez. She was a teacher's aide for the Gilmer ISD schools. Mrs. Petersen is survived by her husband Charles J. Petersen of Gilmer; sons Richard Allen Petersen of Gilmer and Charles William Petersen of Gunnison, Utah; daughter Anna Alicia Lee of Sarepta, La., parents Luis and Yolonda Melendez of Snowflake; brothers Eddie Melendez of Snowflake; and Manuel Melendez of New Port, Wa. and four grandchildren Clara, Tara, Callie Petersen and Alexander Lee. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Melendez. A rosary was recited Monday, June 7 with visitation at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer, Texas.
