Evalyn M. Dixon, 82, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at her home in Show Low.
She was born and raised in Elm Grove, West Virginia. She moved to Yuma in 1949. Later she married Dennis "Ray" Dixon and together raised four children. They bought a Funeral Home in Yuma and worked together for several years. Evalyn also worked as an Administrative Assistant for and Accountant. For many years Evalyn and Ray would spend summers in Show Low, in 1982 they became full-time residents.
Evelyn loved playing bridge, more than playing the game she enjoyed the social nature of the time spent with friends. She also enjoyed needlepoint. Evalyn was a wonderful cook and loved to host dinner parties.
Evalyn is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jerry) Denbow of Orem, Utah; three sons, Stephen (Marijean) Dixon of Payson, Utah, Edwin "Pete" Dixon of Phoenix and Paul Dixon of Yuma; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11 a.m. at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Owens Mortuary in Show Low.
