The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, August 2, 2007 Doris Mae Collins, 80, was called home to her Heavenly Father July 30, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born in East Detroit on April 8, 1927, to Genevieve (Hill) Blumberg and Landon Thomas Blumberg. Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The last eight months of her life were difficult but she managed to conjure up smiles on a daily basis. She was sunshine on a gloomy day. She loved to just go anywhere if some one was willing to take her. She made life' an adventure for her family, from moving to the country and having a lake out our back door, summers of camping, amusement park visits and moving to Arizona 28 years ago. God blessed her with a happy kid-like spirit. We will remember you as being the ‘nicest ol' gal on the block.' You will always be in our hearts and our memories; we love you, Mama. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Larry. She is survived by her son, Craig (Cindv), of Holly, Mich.; daughter, Cheryl Jensen (Chris) of Dewey, Ariz.; daughter, Terri Timm of Dewey, Ariz.; and son, Gary of Las Vegas; also her much loved grandchildren, Chris (Kay), Jeremy, Paul, Holly, Joe, Glen, Toby, Ryan, Julie, Andrew, Anna, Zachary, Megan; and great grandchildren, Josef, Brandon, Chaz and lan. She is also survived by her brother, John (Andrea) Blumberg of Highland, Mich.; her step-mother, Dorothy Blumberg, of Michigan and Florida; and half sisters, Margaret, Judy and Barbara; and half brother, Samuel; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Michigan. Visitation for family and friends will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Sunrise Funeral Home, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Commemoration services in honor of Doris will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Prescott Valley, Ariz., with burial at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery in Dewey. Any memorials in Doris's name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or YRMC Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home. Information provided by survivors.
