Enrique Checa Perez passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 59. Enrique, or Henry as he was known to his family and friends, was born on Dec. 12, 1950, in Mexicali, Mexico, to Enrique and Lucia (Checa) Perez.
Henry had most recently worked for Delta Airlines in Los Angeles as a mechanic, a position he held for 35 years. He moved to Lake Havasu City three years ago.
Henry’s daughters would like to share this message, “In Loving Memory of our Father, Brother, Son and Uncle Enrique “Henry Perez.” Dad loved to travel, was a car enthusiast and very much of a jokester. We will miss him dearly and know that he now rests in peace. Love you, Dad – Talk to you later!”
Henry is survived by his daughters, Susana Diaz and Jessica Perez, both of Los Angeles; his mother, Lucia Perez of Selma, N.C.; sisters, Nydia Toombs of Lake Havasu City, Margarita Perez of Lake Havasu City, Sylvia Osequera of Selma, N.C., Anna Armenderiz of North Hills, Calif., Lucia Sanchez of Culver City, Calif., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. At 7 p.m., Deacon Tom Coe will lead the Rosary and conduct the Scripture Service.
On Jan. 12, 2010, visitation will be held at Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City, Calif., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Father Altuna will then conduct the funeral service with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
