Jimmie Marjorie Tellin, 89, passed away Jan. 5, 2010 in Lake Havasu City. She was born on July 21, 1920, in Bloomington, Neb., to Clyde and Ruth (Hanson) Whitlock.
Jimmie was a graduate of Ventura Junior College, Ventura, Calif.
While working for Remington Arms, she met her lifelong partner and husband, Earl Tellin. They celebrated their 64th anniversary in September 2009. During the war, they moved to Westport Conn., eventually ending up in Blue Springs, Mo. Jimmie was a stay-at-home mom, raising their two children. She loved living on a lake where she taught her children how to swim and love the outdoors. After the children grew up, she worked for Fike Metal Products as secretary to Les Fike Sr. Retirement brought her back to her beloved mountains of Colorado. Living in Poncha Springs, Colo., for 30-some years, they enjoyed going for drives in the mountains and having lots of picnics. Her biggest thrill was going to the top of Mount Antero and looking for aquamarine gemstones. Being there for her family was top priority. We will truly miss her big smile and laughter.
She is survived by her husband, Earl D. Tellin; children, Earl Dana Tellin (Karen), of Lake Havasu City, and Ruth Marie Beaver (Dwight), of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren; Barbara Tellin Cottrell (Curtis), Earl Douglas Tellin (Brandi), and Julie Peterson; and great-grandchildren; Cole Tellin, Madison Tellin, Conner Peterson and Kaylie Peterson.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Whitlock Jr.; mother, Ruth (Hanson) Whitlock; and father, Clyde Whitlock Sr.
A celebration of life will take place at Lake Havasu Mortuary on January 13, at 2 p.m.
Donations can be made in her name to the Polidori House, Hospice of Havasu, 928-453-2353 or 888-468-2111.
