Raymond Albert Dom passed away at home with his much loved family by his side on June 9, 2010 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 82. He was born to Albert and Catherine (Lowery) Dom on March 22, 1928, in Oak Park, Ill.
Raymond served honorably under the direction of the United States Navy during World War II. He married his beloved bride, Dolores Staehle, on May 6, 1950, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 36 years ago from Rockford, Ill. For many years he worked for the McCulloch Corporation as an electronics technician. Raymond was a private pilot and enjoyed flying, boating, motorcycling and computer programming. He was a reserve deputy for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department and a member of Tin Can Sailors.
Raymond was a very devoted father and delighted in the time he spent with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He also loved all animals especially his dog, Abby.
Raymond leaves behind his wife, Dolores, with whom he just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Chicago. Also surviving him are his sons, Michael (Gale), Thomas (Rosemary) and Rich; daughter, Doreen (Gary) Kollars; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alex, Matthew, Mickel and Brent; five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marquerite Kerins and brother-in-law, William J. Kerins.
A Rosary will be said at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the memorial mass at 1 p.m.
