KOWREN, Richard Dwight


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/11/2010 Richard Dwight Kowren, 65, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at his home in Eagar. He was born Dec. 28, 1944, in La Junta, Colo., the son of Charles and Gloria Gaxiola Kowren. Richard worked as an Engineer for Tucson Electric Power. He was smart, kind, and a strong father, brother and friend. He was civic minded and donated countless hours to community projects. He loved his family and loved restoring vintage cars and pickups. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sons Kelly (Jenny) Kowren and Klint Kowren; daughters Kim Kaercher, Kristy (Levi) Penrod and Kory Kowren, all of Tucson; brother Michael (Shirley) Kowren of Gilbert; sisters Debbie Kowren of Eagar, and Pam Kowren of Tucson; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth Kowren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, at the Amity Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Eagar.
