Renate F. Welchman of Taylor died June 5, 2010, in Payson after a brief illness. 
     
She was born and raised in Weisbaden, Germany in 1948 and moved to Illinois with her two children, Howard and Linda in 1973, where she met and married John Welchman of Davenport, Iowa in 1974. Their daughter Renata was born in 1976. Renate and John moved to Taylor in 1997, established a home on the high desert and became great fans of Arizona and its people. 
     
John retired in 2009 allowing them time and travel and enjoy their six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
     
No services will be held and any memorials should be donated to hospicecompassus.com
