Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ June 6, 2010 Daniel E. Thornburg Daniel Thornburg was born in Los Angeles on Sept. 27, 1954, and passed away, at the age of 55, on June 2, 2010, at his home in Rockett, Texas. He married Marlene in Bullhead City on May 4, 1996. Dan was employed with CPC Logistics as a truck driver delivering to Walgreens Stores. Before then he drove tanker trucks for Flying J in Dallas and Kingman. He was also employed by Coastal Transport in Kingman. Before moving to Kingman, he was employed at Mobil Oil Corporation delivering fuel in the Los Angeles area. Dan and Marlene loved to go camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf. Dan will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but they rejoice in the fact that he will no longer suffer. A special thank you to Doctors Paul Kare and John Cox, and nurses at Texas Oncology, and the doctors and nurses at Methodist Charlton Medical Center, Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Baylor University Medical Center. Words cannot express and there are not enough thank yous to Dan and Marlene's next-door neighbors, Earl, Barbara and Heather Gascho, for all the favors and help they have given. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Thornburg of Rockett; father, Ed Thornburg of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughters, Melissa Nation of Gainesville, Va., Tiffany Becker of Bristow, Va., and Raina Hodson (Breck) of Las Vegas; stepson, Shane Erhard (Connie) of Litchfield, Minn.; grandchildren, Courtney Thornburg, Victoria Nation, Rebekah Hodson and Braven Hodson; sisters-in-law, Jan Bauer (Jim) of Salina, Kan., and Kathy Cotton (Phillip) of Tucson; nephews, Todd Gillette of Kansas City, Mo., and Daryl Gillette of Overland Park, Kan.; and niece, Kristi Shulda (Damon) of Salina, Kan. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Thornburg; father-in-law, Ben Horak; mother-in-law, Deloris Horak; and stepson, Billie Joe Erhard.
