Bryce A. Sanders was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Hubbard to John Moore and Emma Isabelle Sanders.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John Moore and Emma Isabelle Sanders; his daughter, Arlene Robison; three brothers, LaVon, Gilbert and Vearl; and two sisters, Helen Montierth and Eunice Mickelson.
Bryce attended schools in Fort Thomas and Thatcher, graduating in 1939.
After graduating from high school, Bryce joined the National Guard when he was 18 years old. He trained at Camp Tuthill in Flagstaff.
Bryce served overseas in the South Pacific with the famed Company G 158 Infantry, known as the Bushmasters. He retired from the National Guard as a captain.
Bryce was long-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in different areas, such as Scout Master, the Sunday School Presidency, Stake High Council and High Priest Secretary.
Bryce and his wife, Vera, served in the Arizona Temple in Mesa as ordinance workers for six years.
For many years, Bryce and Vera had a business known as B & V Swine Ranch. There they raised hogs.
They later sold the farm to Reuben McBride.
Later, they started a business as Sanders Enterprises.
Bryce is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera; son, Scott (Jane); daughter, Linda (Ron) Morrison; brother, Donald; sisters, Donna Jean Peterson and Mickey Foster; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 9, at the Thatcher LDS Stake Center.
Concluding services with military rites conferred by the United States Army Fort Huachuca Honor Detail followed in the Hubbard Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bunker's Caldwell Chapel
