BABBITT, Bertrand George (Thumper)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Sunday, June 13, 2010 Bertrand George "Thumper" Babbitt, 64, died Friday, June 11, 2010, in Flagstaff. Mr. Babbitt was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Cottonwood, and lived thereafter in Flagstaff. He worked at Napa Auto Parts for 23 years and managed the auto parts department at Babbitt Ford in Flagstaff for the last 16 years while serving as a devoted husband, father and friend. Mr. Babbitt is survived by his wife, Judy (Bolin) Babbitt; sons Matthew (Caroline) and Mark; a granddaughter; brother Herbert; sisters Joanne (Dean) Despain and Nancy Fugatt; and many loving relatives and friends. Mr. Babbitt was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Josephine. A celebration of Mr. Babbitt's life will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Elks Club in Flagstaff, 2101 N. San Francisco St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Babbitt's name to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org. Condolences can be sent to his family at www.norvelowens mortuary.com.
