REID, Shawn Wayne

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/30/2005 Shawn Wayne Reid, 40, died Aug. 23, 2005 in Holbrook. He was born March 1, 1965 in Phoenix, to Ronald and Nancy (Turner) Reid. He was born and raised in Holbrook and also attended school there, graduating in 1983. He lived in Phoenix where he attended Apollo College, studying respiratory therapy. He worked at several valley hospitals before going to Van Nuys, Calif., where he worked as a respiratory therapist for six years before returning to Phoenix, and back to Holbrook last year. He enjoyed working on and restoring his 1973 Mustang. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and artifact hunting. He had many friends and was always helpful. He is survived by his parents Ron and Nancy Reid of Holbrook, brothers Brian of Holbrook and William Blaine of Phoenix. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 26 at Black's Mortuary from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at the First Assembly of God Church on Mission Lane in Holbrook at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Holbrook Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
