The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/02/2005 Raymond F. Eckel, 88, of Show Low, died Friday, Aug. 26 at RTA Hospice. He was born April 14, 1917 in Roanoke, Virginia. He was married to the former Ruth Yake and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He spent most of his work career in the food and beverage industry. He came to Arizona from Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by a daughter, Kris Place of Pinetop; son Ross Eckel of Littleton, Colorado; granddaughter, Bethann Jane Eckel of Littleton, Colorado; and dear friend Joyce Cannon of Show Low. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Black's Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
