WEST, Bennie Naomi

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/06/2005 Bennie Naomi West, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 in Show Low. She was born in Oklahoma and spent most of her life in California. While in Texas she met Calvin L West and they were married. Together they moved to California where they raised their family. Bennie worked for various companies including the school district, hospitals, fruit fields and many others. She was a family oriented person; above all her family came first. In 1976 Bennie and Calvin retired to Show Low. Her hobbies and talents included, painting, working puzzles, quilting, embroidery, knitting and much more. Bennie was a member of the First Baptist Church. Bennie is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Christine) West of Dolan Spring, AZ and Calvin, Jr. (Toni) West of Show Low; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Fred and Loretta West of Wickenburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin L. West, Sr. and her daughter, Janice Sorrell. A visitation was held Monday Sept. 5 at Owens Mortuary in Show Low with funeral services to be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Owens Mortuary. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
