Harley Ray "Pete" Henderson, 51, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 in Lakeside.
He was a loving grandfather, father, brother, son and friend. He spent his entire life in Arizona except for the brief time that he served in the military. Pete was able to make everyone laugh and had a way of touching the lives of all that knew him. He was as active as he could be; he enjoyed riding his bike, fishing, and hunting. Pete also spent a lot of time reading his Bible.
He is a life long resident of the White Mountains, graduating from Blue Ridge High School. Pete married his high school sweet heart, Wanda Hulbert and together they had two daughters. He later married Tina Huffaman and they had two children. Pete will always be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. He had a Heart of Gold.
Pete is survived by his mother Orrel Viola Henderson of Lakeside; three daughters, Danielle Apodaca of Lakeside, Courtney (Pete) Apodaca of Lakeside and Sylvia (James) Pike of Grants, New Mexico; one son, John (Lisa) Henderson of Show Low; five grandchildren; three brothers, Terry of Las Vegas, Nev., Ron of Pinetop and Craig of Lake Stevens, Wash.; one sister, Karen of Lake Stevens, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Harley Russell Henderson.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at Owens Mortuary in Show Low.
