Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, November 30, 2009 Gerald J. Waldera (Jerry), 78, Professor Emeritus at Dickinson State University and former North Dakota state Senator, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2009 at the Sanford Hospice Cottages in Sioux Falls, S.D. after a long illness. Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean, and their three sons; Mark Bigelow Waldera (wife Julie), Michael Lawrence Waldera (wife Jennifer), and Gerald J. Waldera, II (Jay). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jesse Jean Waldera, Roman Waldera, Dillon Waldera, and Dodge Waldera, as well as a brother; Glenn, and his wife, Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Rosalie Waldera, his brother. Roman (Skip) Waldera, and his infant grandson, Decker J Waldera. No funeral will be held but there will be a private ceremony by the family at a later date. Memorials honoring Jerry Waldera can be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley (1102 W.
