Betty Lou Buchanan, 69, passed away Nov. 21, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born to Frank and Iva (Fenn) Osborne, the youngest of seven children, on Aug. 30, 1940, in North Plains Township, Mich.
Betty married William Lee Buchanan on Sept. 26, 1987, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 16 years ago from El Paso, Texas. She owned and operated Havasu Mail & Package Center in Lake Havasu City for 16 years. Betty was a devoted Catholic and the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Texas.
Betty will be dearly missed by her beloved family: her husband of 22 years, William Buchanan, of Lake Havasu City; two daughters, Linda Louise Bua and Cindy Ann Kimmons; as well as her four grandchildren, Ryan and Danayella Bua, and Taryn Lawson, and Andrew Kimmons; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and one son.
A scripture service will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Donations may be made in Betty’s name to the American Cancer Society of Lake Havasu, P.O. Box 1410, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405 or to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
