Almeda Rose Flint (Susie), 95, passed away Nov. 12, 2009 in Lake Havasu City. She was born on Feb. 8, 1914, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Walter Forrest Sydenham and Eunice Mabel Gallagher Sydenham.
She married Harry Standish Flint in Gunnison, Colo., Feb. 22, 1946. Almeda, known as Susie, was raised in Salida, Colo., graduated in 1932, attended Barns Business College in Denver, Colo., and was employed as a stenographer for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad for 37 years.
After retirement, she moved to Mesa, where she lived until 4 1/2 years ago, when she moved to Lake Havasu City to be near her sister. Susie loved to travel overseas. She traveled all over Europe, the South Pacific, where she spent lots of time on both the north and south Island of New Zealand, Fiji, Bali and Morea. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sister, Vivian Dougherty; stepsons, Stan Flint and Burdette Hall; stepdaughter, Lynn Wingate; and several step-grand children and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eunice Sydenham; brother, Clarence Sydenham; and husband, Harry Flint.
Services will be held at a later date in Colorado, and donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu.
