Nancy Delores Burdyshaw Shepherd
Nancy Shepherd, 63, died Sept. 2, 2005 at her home in Eagar.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Oct. 31, 1941 to Fred and Elsie Burdyshaw. She was a familiar figure to nearly everyone who has lived in the Round Valley area in the past 30 years. She was a short lady with a huge heart and an outgoing, feisty personality. Nancy was seldom seen without a huge smile for everyone she knew.
Nancy came to Eagar in 1976. She reared her family in Round Valley among numerous friends. She was the business manager for White Mountain Communities Hospital in Springerville, for a number of years. She loved her work there and her co-workers were her extended family.
Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed animals, especially horses. Her home, yard and flowers were her pride and joy. She had a passion for antiques and frequently bought and sold on eBay.
Left to mourn her passing are Nancy's former husband and cherished friend, Ron Shepherd, Tolleson; sons Craig (Norma) Shepherd, Springerville and Eric (Kathryn) Shepherd, Mesa; grandchildren Cole, Erica and Danaca; and sister Susan Doron, Denton, Texas and countless friends.
Her parents Fred and Elsie Burdyshaw and sister Dorothy Cecil preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville. She was interred at the Eagar Cemetery.
Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, Eagar, handled the arrangements.
