NACHU, Mary (Butchie)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/16/2005 Mary "Butchie" Nachu, 56, entered into eternal rest Sept. 12, 2005 at Phoenix Indian Hospital in Phoenix. She was born July 14, 1949 in Whiteriver to Robert and Dolly (Alsenay) Nachu. She was raised and went to school in Whiteriver. She was disabled following an auto accident at age 15. She enjoyed collecting jewelry, gardening, and loved flowers. She also loved all types of music. She enjoyed family get togethers because she loved to eat. She was gentle, kind and happy going despite her disability. She loved having visitors. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She is survived by her mother Dolly Nachu of Whiteriver; one sister Bobbie Stover; three brothers Leo Nachu, Sr., Leon Nachu and Sonny Terry Nachu all of Whiteriver; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, sister Rosella and brother Ike Nachu. She will brought home for a two-night wake Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at Dolly Nachu's residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Northfork Miracle Church with Pastor Lex Baha officiating, Interment will be at the chieftain cemetery.
