LANDOLL, Robert (Bob) Eugene, Jr.


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, June 16, 2010 Robert “Bob” Eugene Landoll, Jr., passed away peacefully in Youngtown, Ariz., on June 10. He was 91 years old. Bob was born in Hanover, Kan., on Feb. 17, 1919, to Lewis and Nina Landoll. Bob was proud to be a veteran, having served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He held the rank of captain and was a pilot during his service. This passion would follow him the rest of his life as he continued to fly his own Cessna aircraft. Bob also spent 20 years on the Volunteer Fire Department during the years he lived in Colorado. Bob had been a Wickenburg resident for more than 35 years. During this time, he was an active member of the Rancho de los Caballeros Golf Club, where he indulged his other passion - golf. During the summer months, he enjoyed traveling to the White Mountains to fish. Bob was also active in the local Masonic Lodge for many years and was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1995, and his son Lewis in 2006. His four brothers and two sisters also pre-deceased him. Bob is survived by his wife of 16 years Margaret “Peg” Landoll; his son Robert (Georgia) Landoll of New Mexico; his step-children Peggy (Terry) Craig of Wickenburg; John (Susan) Morgan of Brandon, Miss.; and Dori (Freddie) Morgan-Hyatt of Morriston, Fla.; along with grandchildren Lori (Ernie) Jones, and Mark Craig, both of Wickenburg; John (Amy) Morgan of Brandon, Miss.; and Scott (Corey) Morgan of Cordova, Tenn. Bob also had seven great-grandchildren - Chad Craig, Britni, Dakota, and Christine Jones, all of Wickenburg; Marian Morgan of Brandon, Miss.; and Ellis and Reid Morgan of Cordova, Tenn. Bob is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews grandchildren and great grandchildren who live outside the state of Arizona. At Bob’s request, no services will be held. The family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Wickenburg High School Golf Team (donations can be sent to Wickenburg Unified School District 9, 40 W. Yavapai Street, Wickenburg AZ 8390), or to the Wickenburg Humane Society, P.O. Box 147, Wickenburg AZ 85358. Bob’s final resting place will be at the St. Alban’s Memorial Garden in Wickenburg, Ariz.
