Roy Charles Lee McCurry, 93, died Monday, September 26, 2005 at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside.
He was born in Tennessee. His family moved to Henrietta, Oklahoma where he attended school, graduating in 1930. Following school he worked on the family farm in Arkansas. Just prior to the Great Depression he moved to California where he became acquainted with his childhood friend, Oneida, they were married in 1942. Roy worked for North American Aircraft during World War II.
Following the war he went to work for General Petroleum; which is now Exxon/Mobil, as a refinery worker, he worked in that capacity for 28 years retiring in 1974. Following retirement they moved from Inglewood, Calif. to San Marcos, Calif. finally settling in Show Low in 1999.
Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie Oneida McCurry of Show Low; daughter, Linda Valente of Show Low and his granddaughter, Melody Hermes of San Marcos, Calif.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Show Low Cemetery.
