Chester Thomas Haney, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 in Heber.
He was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Chester and his wife, Alice moved to Arizona around 1952 and lived in Prescott for several years. They then moved to Phoenix in 1969. Chester worked in highway construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years; he was also a mechanic. Chester also worked for A.Wana Childrens Program and was a Sunday School Teacher in the Southern Baptist Church in Phoenix. Chester and Alice moved to Heber last year after he became ill.
Chester is survived by his wife, Alice Haney of Heber; sons, Neal (Liza) Haney of Mesa, Alvin (Ruth) Haney of Ohio; daughters, Lois (Dale) McKenzie of Heber and Eva (Jerry) Mollet of Overgaard; brothers, Myles Haney of Colorado, Grey "Bill" Haney of Pennsylvania; sisters, Kathryn Campbell of Pennsylvania and Carol Bakken of California; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Phoenix.
