Jerry Denton, Sr., 59, died Sept. 24, 2005 in Prescott.
He was born and raised in Tacoma, Wash. He attended school and graduated from Pierce College in 1990. He moved to Sierra Vista, and then moved to Lakeside in 1993. He married Deborah Kay Bieth in 1993 in Show Low. She preceded him in death in 1995. He worked as a meat cutter in Tacoma, Wash. and Albany, Ore. for Safeway for 17 years before retiring. He was a medic in the Navy and Marines in Vietnam from 1964 through 1970.
He is survived by one daughter Jamie Denton of Oregon; two sons Gerald Denton, Jr. and Jeffrey Dewayne Denton both of Oregon; one sister Cathy of Virginia; two brothers Kenneth William Denton of Virginia and David Francis Denton of Tacoma, Wash.; long time friend Celia Warbington of Show Low; and 17 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at Blacks Mortuary Chapel located at 401 N. 4th Ave. in Show Low.
