Megan Melissa Aikins passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 17 following a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. Megan was born on July 15, 1992, in Riverside, Calif., to James Wolfe and Christina Aikins.
Megan and her family moved to Lake Havasu City four years ago from Riverside. Megan attended Lake Havasu High School and graduated last month with the Class of 2010. She enjoyed exercising, walking her dog and just hanging with her friends. Megan was an inspiration to her family and all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Megan is survived by her mother, Christina Aikins, and her adoptive father, Jeff Wells, of Lake Havasu City; her father, James Wolfe, of Elwood City, Pa.; brothers Ryan Keith, of Torrance, Calif., Ronald Aikins, of Lancaster, Calif., and Jeffery Wells Jr., of Lake Havasu City.
A celebration of Megan’s life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Community Church with Youth Pastor Chris Harper offering words of comfort and inspiration. A benefit dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1516 Marlboro Drive, to assist the family with medical and funeral expenses.
