The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/18/2005 Manuel P. Madrid, 94, died at his home in St. Johns Oct. 12, 2005. He was born Dec. 24, 1910 at Mangas, N.M. At the age of ten, his family moved to Arizona. For many years he worked as a lumber-jack for Whiting Brothers Milling. He liked building things and worked in construction for many years. He was an avid fan of boxing, and a dedicated family man. His survivors include his wife Aurora Madrid; sons Trinquilino, Alex, Daniel and Leo; daughters Lucy, Betty, Vivian, Mary Ellen and Viola; and 30 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. His parents and all his other siblings preceded him in death. A funeral mass was held for him Monday, Oct. 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns. Interment was at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary handled the arrangements.
